| RE: extreme bad Mixbus 4 performance with vst plugins! Whew boy, reading some of these posts makes me wonder what’s up. I mean, to say that mixbus is only for mixing of audio files immediately assumes that one is willing to take the downgrade hit in fidelity by mixing down vst synths to audio files. And make no mistake there is a substantial difference when mixing in the box between live vst synths in a 32bit environment and those same synth outputs turned into .wav files. Now I’ve got a windows 10 i7 9th gen computer, and i7 6th gen computer. When mixing in cubase 10 on the 9th gen system, I can have an almost unlimited number of vst synths LIVE; substantially more than the 6th gen system (probably because of the faster throughput and the extra 2 CPU cores). BUT on mixbus, the CPU usage is the SAME on the 6th as the 9th gen when using vst synths. I’m lucky if I can get 5 to run without distortion/glitching and the CPU maxing out. This seems like a serious issue to anyone actually hoping to ever compose music from scratch with mixbus. I get that you can say mixbus is ONLY for MIXING and not composition...but that doesn’t make it much of a DAW then. I would really like to see Harrison address these issues because I DO prefer mixing in mixbus...but not at the expense of the loss of top end clarity from my vst synths... |

It’s just the way it is, Mixbus can’t compared since it’s always running the analog plugins built in which cannot be bypassed within the Mixbus itself, i always use Mixbus with increased buffer setting.
