I was just hoping for a virtual instrument.It's amazing the lack of information out there on the topic. You're literally the first person to explain it clearly. Right now, they are only saying that VSTis are not supported. Adobe audition cc 2014 vst plugins. Even on the official adobe forums, they are still saying that VSTs are supported in audition.
